Mr. Harbaugh is a lifelong resident of the Toledo area, residing in Ottawa Lake Michigan.

Mel is a veteran of the United States Air Force where he worked as a jet mechanic. He continued this highly technical work by becoming a master tool and die maker. After working in prototyping and model making at Toledo Molding and Die, Inc. (“TMD”) in that capacity, he subsequently joined the manufactures’ representative Harbaugh-Walworth, where he worked as a Sales Associate then moving into an ownership position, where he worked with his father and brother. In 1989 he participated with his father and brother, Don, and with a venture-capital partner in the purchase of TMD. After it was acquired he became not only an officer and director of the succeeding entity, but was appointed executive Vice President of Research and Development, including rapid prototyping and advanced imaging technologies, and continued in this position for approximately 15 years.

Mel is now in an angel investor in SkyLIFE and serves on the Board of Directors. Mel and Charline have two grown children, Mark and Jennifer and three grandchildren, Dakota, Declan and Avery.
